Compliance Officer
Compliance Officer - Insurance - Dublin - Permanent
A Dublin-based Insurance firm are seeking a Compliance Officer on a permanent basis. In this role you will aid and play a key role in ensuring the regulatory compliance of the business's home and motor insurance functions. Your role will involve an initial period with specific focus on the establishment, implementation and monitoring of processes, procedures and registers required to assist in the Company’s meeting of standards required. Your role will then move into full operational compliance.
Key responsibilities of the Compliance Officer:
- Develop and oversee robust frameworks for fitness and probity, minimum competency, and individual accountability, tailored to the specific needs of the Company
- Conduct full assessments of needs to assist in and contribute to the design of processes and systems of work to identify gaps and recommend improvements to meet regulatory standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of compliance frameworks into operational processes
- Establish and execute a comprehensive monitoring program specific to fitness, competency and ensure obligations are met and any non-compliance issues are escalated
- Contribute to periodic reviews and audits to assess the effectiveness of frameworks and their implementation, making necessary recommendations for adjustments as required
- Support the Head of Compliance in the effective delivery of the annual Compliance Plan and maintain a strong presence in the Company to ensure the ongoing delivery and enforcement of a strong and robust Compliance culture
Key requirements of the Compliance Officer:
- At least 2 years' experience within a Compliance role within Financial Services, with knowledge of regulatory requirements
- Experience within non-life Insurance a huge advantage
- At least a bachelor's degree obtained within a relevant field i.e. Law, Finance, Business
- Strong attention to detail and ability to review documents in a timely manner
- Strong initiative and a self-starter attitude
- Ability to contritube to the implementation and design of Compliance frameworks
- Proficient with compliance software and Microsoft skills
- Willingness to be present in the office for key meetings and reviews
