A charity in Dublin City Centre is looking for a finance assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate will be part-qualified and will have previous similar experience.
Key Responsibilities of Finance Assistant:
- Work with general ledger accounts
- Assist with month end close process and journal entries
- Financial statement analysis
- Variance analysis of expenditure across services
- Cash flow monitoring
- Support the internal audit function
- Support the preparation of and during the annual audit
- Support the development of bids/grant application budgets
- Reconciling and input of all income into the accounting system by working day 5
- Responsibility for effective management of debtor’s ledgers and control over related rent collections including reconciliations
- Support the preparation of the Annual Budget
- Support the Fundraising Department to develop cost-benefit tools for campaign analysis
- Assist in daily treasury operations
- Raising invoices, managing receipt allocation and reconciliation of Government grants
- Perform monthly treasury reporting across all bank accounts and investments
Key Requirements of Finance Assistant:
- Expertise in numbers and good math skills are very important
- Must have knowledge of basic principles and practices of accounting and financial analysis and GAAP
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
- Strong accountancy skills
- Must have intermediate skills in excel and competence in utilising applications across the Microsoft suite of office products
- Previous work experience in a finance/accounting business environment
