Group Financial Accountant - 12 month FTC

A semi state organisation based in Wicklow is looking to hire a Group Financial Accountant for a 12 month maternity contract. In this role you will be supporting both the Group Finance Director and the Group Financial Controller where you will help prepare financial information, annual financial statements, provide tax compliance and advisory services for the group.

A semi state organisation based in Wicklow is looking to hire a Group Financial Accountant for a 12 month maternity contract. In this role you will be supporting both the Group Finance Director and the Group Financial Controller where you will help prepare financial information, annual financial statements, provide tax compliance and advisory services for the group.

This client works two days in the office and three days from home, salary range is €60,000 - €70,000 DOE plus benefits. Flexibility with starting and finish times also included.

Key Responsibilities of the Group Financial Accountant - 12 month FTC
• Prepare Group monthly management accounts for review by senior management and Board, including analysis of major variances and key business factors driving performance.
• Build strong working relationships with Finance Directors and their teams in the Business Divisions to develop an in depth understanding of the Business Divisions financial performance.
• Act as financial support, processing invoices and liaising with transactional services team.
• Support the Group Financial Controller in the preparation of quarterly forecast numbers for presentation to the Board,
• Support the Group Finance Controller in the preparation of an annual Group Business and Operating Plan for approval by the Board.
• Support the Group Financial Controller and Group Finance Director in annual statutory audit process and preparation of Group financial statements.
• Prepare corporation tax and capital gains tax computations.
• Ensure tax returns are filed on a timely basis, that tax liabilities are minimised and that the Group is tax compliant.
• Assist the Group Financial Controller with shareholder and external reporting requirements.

• Accountancy qualification with 2-3 years minimum PQE.
• Excellent financial and analytical skills.
• Accounts preparation experience essential, with ability to prepare accounts to profit and loss and balance sheet with commentary.
• Very strong IT skills, particularly, Agresso, Excel and Powerpoint
