Walters People are excited to be partnered with a leading retailer in their search for an Indirect Tax (VAT) leader to join their team in Dublin North.
Key responsibilities
- Work with the business to understand any VAT issues and provides guidance and advice to resolve
- Review and recommend for approval VAT returns for the EMEA region, ensuring accurate, timely and complete submission
- Ensure that all day-to-day matters, tasks and provide assistance to the team in order to resolve ad hoc matters
- Create and maintain effective working relationships with all key stakeholders
- You will also be involved in digitization projects driven by legislative changes & the need to create efficiencies
- Manage VAT audits as needed
You are ideal if you have:-
- Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in a professional tax/VAT environment – ideally with some practice experience
- Previous experience in a senior role
- Strong communication skills
- Structural and detail oriented
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent technical knowledge European VAT legislation and case law
- Ability to prioritize work and meet strict deadlines
- Previous experience using Oracle/SAP would be an advantage
