Key Responsibilities of the Financial Operations Accountant - Financial Services
• Contribute to the US/French GAAP and other local STAT ledgers (USSTAT, IRISHGAAP, SINGSTAT) quarterly closing process, including GL population, accounts analysis and reconciliations and group consolidation.
• Work with various teams in the preparation of global regulatory quarterly/annual returns, such as, Solvency II, Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), and local statistical returns in Ireland, Switzerland, Bermuda and U.S.
• Work with various teams in the preparation of legal entities’ financial statements across the PartnerRe Group.
• Work with the External Reporting and Group Tax teams on the preparation of Corporation tax, VAT/GST filings for various PartnerRe entities
• Support the completion of internal and external audits
• Support the FinOps director/managers in any projects that may arise
• Part Qualified Accountant studying Accountancy exams
Key Requirements of the Financial Operations Accountant - Financial Services
• Strong accounting experience to handle complex double entries bookings.
• Experience with Financial Statements preparation process.
• Experience with US GAAP monthly/quarterly closing process.
• Experience working in group consolidation reporting a distinct advantage.
• Experience in the Insurance/Reinsurance/Finance Industry an advantage
• Experience with accounting in a multicurrency, multi-entity landscape an advantage.
• Experience working with the multinational grade accounting systems. (Oracle – PeopleSoft an advantage).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, highly organised and capable of working in an international and culturally diverse environment, with a high degree of autonomy.
• Detailed oriented, takes great pride in delivering quality work within predetermined deadlines.
• Flexible with a positive attitude.
• Openness for continuous improvement and can-do attitude.
• Strong Excel / MS Office skills.
• Works well as part of a team.
• Fluency in English.
